Early Childhood Special Educator
Tell us a little about your approach to early intervention:
I believe in establishing a strong relationship with parents and caregivers in order to best support the needs of each child. Parents are their child’s first and best teachers. I strive to encourage parents to help their child reach their goals through offering individualized strategies and support. I believe in supporting children by meeting them at their developmental level and building on their strengths through intervention based on play and their everyday routines.
What qualifications and trainings do you have?
- B.A. in English
- M.A. in Teaching
- Washington State Certified Teacher
- Additional trainings include: DIR Floortime, Early Start Denver Model, Autism Spectrum Disorder, sensory processing, sign language, and addressing challenging behaviors.
Are there areas of practice that you specialize in?
I work with infants, toddlers, and their families addressing a variety of issues including communication and language development, behavioral concerns, cognitive development, self-help skills, and gross and fine motor development.
