Chloe became a mom at 17 years old. She vowed at that time to break the intergenerational cycles of abuse and neglect that have plagued her family for many years. It hasn\u2019t been a straight path. It hasn\u2019t been an easy journey. But Chloe has pressed on and and found strength in knowing she doesn\u2019t have to do this alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Over the past 18 years, Chloe has been in and out of therapy. Last year she found herself at HopeSparks and began seeing Christie. She came to counseling for help removing herself from a toxic relationship which mirrored her past traumas. With Christie, she found a safe place to feel, process, and heal the deep wounds of trauma.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cIf I cried, she let me cry and have my feelings. She just let me be, and that really helped me trust her.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Chloe was able to develop trust in herself as well. The still, small voice of hope and acceptance inside her is getting louder and louder, and now drowns out the negative and hurtful voices that, before counseling, were all she could hear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cDifficulties remain and the inner work is challenging, but now I have the courage to allow presence, trust, and faith in myself. My heart is a repaired compass. I will never again lose my true north.<\/strong>\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Chloe wants us to know that this journey shouldn\u2019t be traveled alone. Sometimes you really need someone else there; someone to hold you in that space and mirror back to you the things that you aren\u2019t always confident about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThere is real power in that interpersonal relationship. Something magical happens that is beyond both of you.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n Chloe\u2019s focus in now on making sure her son, Shine, has the tools and support he needs to be able to navigate life and find his true north.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI just want to be a great role model for him and show him all the ways to be limitless, and to not feel held back or held down.
